The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) module is not a single unit in most Suzuki engines. It’s a system comprised of various components that work together to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. The main parts of a Suzuki EGR system include:

• EGR valve: This valve controls the flow of exhaust gases back into the intake manifold.
• Vacuum modulator: This component regulates the vacuum pressure applied to the EGR valve, thereby controlling the amount of exhaust gas recirculated.
• EGR passage: This is a channel that connects the exhaust manifold to the intake manifold.
• Sensors: Some EGR systems use sensors, such as an EGR position sensor, to monitor the valve’s operation and provide feedback to the engine control unit (ECU).

The ECU controls the entire EGR system based on various factors like engine speed, load, and temperature. When certain conditions are met, the ECU opens the EGR valve, allowing a small amount of exhaust gas to enter the intake manifold. This reduces the combustion chamber temperature, thereby lowering NOx emissions.
